Quality

Our First Priority: Uncompromising Quality
At Cwm Engineering, quality isn’t just a requirement—it’s the foundation of everything we do. Our commitment to precision, consistency, and reliability extends across every stage of manufacturing, ensuring that every component we produce meets the highest industry standards.
Our AS9100 Rev D and ISO 9001:2015 certifications reflect our dedication to maintaining a robust, fully documented quality management system. This system is embedded in our Quality Assurance Manual, guiding our team to uphold strict compliance, traceability, and process control.
Quality is more than a standard—it’s a culture. We ensure that our quality policy is clearly understood, implemented, and maintained at every level of our organisation, aligning with our operational goals and exceeding customer expectations.

Our Commitment to Quality
"Quality is not just an expectation—it’s a fundamental part of our culture. From the initial contract review phase to final inspection, we uphold rigorous quality control processes to ensure every component meets the highest standards. When you work with us, you can trust that precision, compliance, and reliability are guaranteed."
Our Quality Control Process
Ensuring quality starts with meticulous inspection and traceability at every stage of production. Our temperature-controlled inspection facility, combined with state-of-the-art metrology equipment, guarantees that every component meets the most stringent industry requirements.
Our quality assurance capabilities include:
-
5-Axis CMM Inspection – High-precision measurement using our Mitutoyo CRYSTA-Apex V7106, ensuring critical tolerances and full compliance with AS9100 standards.
-
Two 3-Axis CMM In-Process Verification – Our two Aberlink Extol CMMs allow for real-time inspection on the shop floor, reducing the risk of deviation and improving consistency.
-
Renishaw In-Process Probing – Integrated CNC machine inspection to ensure parts remain within tolerance throughout machining.
-
Surface Finish Testing – We use Mitutoyo Surftest SJ-210 to verify that surface roughness meets exact specifications.
Preventing Counterfeit Goods
At Cwm Engineering, we have stringent controls in place to prevent the use of counterfeit materials and components in our manufacturing processes. Our approved supplier system ensures that we only procure materials from verified and reputable sources, with full traceability back to the manufacturer.
All purchases are reviewed against customer and industry requirements, and our team receives ongoing training to recognize and mitigate counterfeit risks. Upon arrival, materials and components undergo thorough inspection and verification, including certification checks and, where necessary, material analysis to confirm authenticity.
These measures, combined with our adherence to AS9100 and ISO 9001:2015 standards, ensure that every part we produce meets the highest quality and compliance standards, safeguarding our customers against counterfeit risks.

Foreign Object Debris (FOD) Prevention

At Cwm Engineering, we adhere to strict Foreign Object Debris (FOD) control measures to ensure the highest level of quality and safety in our manufacturing processes. Our FOD prevention program follows AS9100 and aerospace industry best practices, incorporating:
-
Workplace Organization: Clean, well-maintained workstations and machine areas to prevent contamination.
-
Tool & Material Control: Procedures to track tools, consumables, and small components, ensuring nothing is left inside or near critical parts.
-
Regular Inspections: Routine checks throughout machining, assembly, and packaging to detect and remove potential debris.
-
Employee Training: Staff are trained in FOD awareness and best practices to minimize risks.
-
Packaging & Shipping Standards: Parts are cleaned, inspected, and securely packaged to prevent contamination during transit.
These controls mitigate risks, enhance part integrity, and align with aerospace and defence quality expectations, ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
